Early Childhood Recreation Learning Program

The Early Childhood Recreation Learning Program offers 2 ALL DAY programs and 1 evening program to offer more options for families to choose from. The extra time spent in the classroom will allow the children to expand upon their readiness skills for future education in preschool or Kindergarten, and provides an alternative for working parents with a safe, fun and educational environment for their children.

Terrific Threes & Fours
ALL DAY PRESCHOOL
This year the district is offering a Pre-Kindergarten All Day class (see the Pre-K description), and an All Day class for 3 & 4 year olds. (see Purple Pals & Blue Buddies description). The extra time the children have during class will allow them to expand upon their readiness skills for future education in preschool or Kindergarten, and will also provide working parents with a safe, fun, and educational environment for their children.. If you register for Terrific Threes & Fours class you must send a brown bag lunch and drink daily with your child.

Night Owls Evening Class
Night Owls is an evening class offered to help fit the working parent’s schedule. Our planned curriculum focuses on a thematic approach. Children will be introduced to a variety of skills through activities and exploration.

Days: Tuesday & Thursday
Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Ages: 4 & 5 year olds

Purple Pals
Purple Pals is beneficial for children who may be starting preschool for the
first time. We help ease their fears and anxieties about leaving their parents. They become introduced to playing with other children. Our program will guide and encourage children to discover their environment. If you register for Terrific Threes & Fours you must send a brown bag lunch and drink daily with your child.

Blue Buddies
Blue Buddies is filled with many activities and experiences that will allow children to learn through exploration. Our planned curriculum focuses on a thematic approach. Socialization skills are developed as children begin to interact with one another.

Pre-Kindergarten AM & PM
The Pre-Kindergarten class will create an atmosphere that will stimulate and organize cognitive learning in small groups, sharing, taking turns, and accepting responsibility for one’s own actions. The children will be encouraged to become independent and self - disciplined. Our curriculum incorporates the Kindergarten readiness skills desired by teachers of School District #100.

Incredible Infants (RW)
Join Ms. Brenda each week and share an enjoyable time with your infant. This popular class offers a variety of fun activities designed with you and your child in mind. Exercise, play, music and interaction with other infants and parents highlight this class. Come spend a stimulating time with your little one!

Toddlin’ Twos (RW)
The first classroom experience without Mom or Dad can be a bit fearful and anxious for two year olds. Teachers will help ease those fears and encourage independence. Children will enjoy playing, making simple craft projects, and interact in music and activities. Register soon, this is a very popular program and has a limited enrollment to ensure the quality and safety of the program and participants.

Mini Musicians (RW)
The high quality music class awakens and develops the child’s inborn love and talent for making music. Classes, which include parent(s), are designed to build attention and self-expression and include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, and music storytelling.

During these classes your child will develop first the sense of a steady beat, a clear sense of high-low pitches, loudsoft dynamics, fast-slow beats, and the ability of singing on pitch. Later they will develop the ability of playing rhythms of increasing difficulty and repeat whatever the teacher plays or sings, which is essential for learning any musical instrument. The class also sets the basics for music reading.

Winter Wiggle-Worms (RW)
Looking for a place for your infant and toddler to play,explore and socialize? If so we have the perfect activity for you! During Winter Wiggle-Worms the gym will be set up with a variety of toys and equipment for your child to enjoy. What: Infant, Toddler & Parent Gym Fun.

Wiggleworms will be canceled the week of November 14th due to floor renovations at the Liberty Cultural Center. Please call Freedom Park at 708-788-1701 for more information.
