 Gladiators Open Field Dodgeball
 Come join the excitement! Participants will have a blast running, throwing, dodging and ducking their way to victory. A classic game in a safe, supervised environment. We will introduce some new variations of dodgeball that are sure to be a good time.
This fun moving sport will provide team competition and sportsmanship, while getting the body in shape.

Summer Tennis Programs
 Our program consists of 3 age groups of players including Youth (7-12 yrs), Teen (13-17 yrs) and Adults (18 +). Register your child for the class of your choice; however, youth must attend the time period based on his or her age. Instructors will divide the Youth and Teen classes into beginning, intermediate and advanced ability levels. Students will advance to intermediate and advanced levels after they have mastered specific skills and pass the minimum skills test established and measured by our Head Pro, Lauren Gillian. Class will not meet during inclement weather. All participants should bring their own racquet. If needed, the Park District will supply one during practices.
1:8 Instructor/Student ratio - Designed to provide further instruction on forehand and backhand swings, volley tennis drills and positioning on the court.

27th Place Teen Open Mic Night
 Calling all teen poets, writers, artists, and musicians!
Starting Friday, June 20, 2008, the Berwyn Park District is introducing our 27th Place summer series of Teen Open Mic Night. Teens are invited to sing a song, perform poetry, play an instrument, or do a comedy routine at 27th Place a.k.a. Liberty Cultural Center located at 6445 W. 27th Place, Berwyn. This is your chance to let your creative inner self come out. Individuals and groups are welcome. Bring your friends to cheer you on. For more information contact Anthony Hill at 708.795.2892.  Illinois State Battle of the Bands Competition
Here is your chance to be a star! The Berwyn Park District is looking for all teen basement bands, buddies, and groupies in the area to represent their community in this summer’s Battle of the Bands competition. All types of music and abilities are welcome to participate. Bands will need to bring all equipment, including instruments and sound equipment.
Local Competition
Join us at the Park District of Oak Park’s Scoville Park to watch local teens compete for a chance to advance to the Illinois State Battle of the Bands’ regional competition (see below). Besides the opportunity to hear great local bands, there will be the chance for the audience to win some really cool prizes just for showing up. And best yet, it’s all FREE! In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors to Ridgeland Common.
Regional Competition
Watch the winners of the local competition compete against other Chicagoland teen bands for a chance to play at the Illinois State Battle of the Bands event at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, Illinois. The regional competition will be held at the Park District of Forest Park’s front lawn. Mark your calendar for this free event and come out to support your local bands!!!
